Built in 1899 by the architect Emilio Salas y Cortés, whose most famous pupil was Antoni Gaudí, the building of the Catalonia Duques de Bergara is exemplary of Art Nouveau architecture.

The most significant original features from its period have been restored and preserved, including the façade with its wide windows, and its interiors, like the marble staircase leading to the first floor, where you find magnificent Cuban mahogany doors, painted ceilings and a dome.
